Perjury is the intentional act of swearing a false oath or falsifying an affirmation to tell the truth, whether spoken or in writing, concerning matters material to an official proceeding, in according to Wikipedia.
In Thailand, it is serious crime and considered to be offence against judicial official as follows:
Section 177 Whoever, giving a false evidence to the Court in the judicial proceedings, if such false evidence is an essential matter in the case, shall be punished with imprisonment not exceeding five years or fined not exceeding ten thousand Baht, or both.
มาตรา 177 ผู้ใดเบิกความอันเป็นเท็จในการพิจารณาคดีต่อศาล ถ้าความเท็จนั้นเป็นข้อสำคัญในคดี ต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินห้าปี หรือปรับไม่เกินหนึ่งหมื่นบาท หรือทั้งจำทั้งปรับ ถ้าความผิดดังกล่าวในวรรคแรก ได้กระทำในการพิจารณาคดีอาญา ผู้กระทำต้องระวางโทษจำคุกไม่เกินเจ็ดปี และปรับไม่เกิน หนึ่งหมื่นสี่พันบาท
